There was a boy

There was once a charming boy who loved his toy

He really adored his toy, didn’t he?

For months & months

They had fun under the sun

But the boy wanted more attention

Thus he diverted his affection


When another fancy toy came, he was over the top

And simply could not keep his hands off

He banished his old toy into a cold room

Where it sat in despair and gloom

Never would he deem

This new toy had an evil scheme

It cuts the boy while playing one day

Leaving him bleeding as the price to pay

As he cried in pain

He was not ashamed

For he tossed his old toy in anger

When it was already injured


The old toy thought it has been loved all along

To realize it was just a summer song

Not even the boy’s promises and tears

Could wash away its fears

It kept the toy wondering

If the boy would ever have another fling


The boy has been the sweetest since

But nothing could erase the fool he had been

The boy was forgiven

But the toy has not forgotten

All would be safe and sound

Had the boy not been too proud
